| I'm merely interested in the performance advantage that DI provides. Nevertheless for a daily driver, I'm assuming the port injection wouldn't be running full-tilt; only enough to fully rinse/combust the residual carbon. For most, it would make more sense to pay $400 to get their heads walnut-blasted every 80k miles until a better alternative is implemented. NBD. Interesting info on the Infiniti timing chain. But hell, Nissan hasn't had the best luck with timing chains well before DI was introduced in their lineup (VQ35DE). DI has been problematic for just about all platforms initially, yes. I believe there are some who have fixed the majority of these issues though. Haven't heard of a timing chain issue on the n54/55's nor 2.3 DISI's. HPFP's and carbon buildup after ~60-80k miles, sure. Won't keep me away from DI.
